Tomasz Obszański
Polish farmer, entrepreneur, and social activist, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Poland on Agricultural Affairs, the Chairman of the Independent Farmers' Trade Union "Solidarity". In this role, he engages in discussions at the national and European levels, addressing issues of food security, the protection of agricultural land, support for family farms, and the development of organic farming. In 2024, during a protest in Brussels, he initiated the creation of "Solidarity of European Farmers" – a platform for cooperation between agricultural organizations from various countries, which has been welcomed with recognition by European agricultural communities. As the leader of the agricultural trade union "Solidarity", he participates in work on legislative solutions for rural areas and agriculture. In his work, he combines practical experience as a farmer with knowledge and the ability to engage in social dialogue. He particularly emphasizes the need to create long-term strategies that respond to the challenges of global competition, the Green Deal, and climate change. He cultivates values rooted in the Catholic religion and the tradition of Polish family farms – hard work, solidarity, and responsibility for future generations.
